Popped the back cover off, the Pinphone now uses the M9 3.7V 2000 mAh battery. I know the older versions used 1100 mAh battery. So if you're considering buying Pinphone but was worried about battery life. That problem has been addressed. Now if we can get alot of the other problems worked out.
I still have as of yet to get the internet and MMS working. But I'm hopeful.
Also for information sake my Pinphone's motherboard Version 2.2.1

I would't necessarily believe what's printed on the battery, I have one of the first pinphones and the battery also claims it's a 2000mAh , which I don't believe ;)

If you are having difficulties setting up MMS, make SURE to go into the Engineer Mode (*#3234#), then:

Misc. - Internet Application - User Agent

    Select the Nokia N93

That was the only way for me to get MMS working :)

That's the exact same motherboard as my phone has.
Hey Colonel, any way to change how long the phone searches for Cell signal. When I boot my phone, it only searches for signal about 20 seconds and then just quits. I noticed if the phone does not find signal upon first boot and times out. It will not find signal even if I move into a high signal area unless I reboot the phone. I live in a weak signal area, my other phones will find signal but this one times out too quickly. Is there a setting inside the engineering or factory mode settings to make the phone search for a longer period of time before timeout? Thanks Colonel.

I wouldn't know how to change the search time in the Engineer Mode?!?

How about if you do a manual search from the regular settings?

Settings - general - Sim network setup - network selection - new search

Does it search any longer there? I can't test it, I live in the city and I always find my networks right away.

Here is the options my phone has, \settings\general\sim network setup\prefered mode\gsm or wifi prefered. That's all the options mine has as for network selection is concerned.

I guess you don't get the network selection menu option because you are not connected to a network?!? If I take out my sim card, I also only get the prefferred mode, network selection only appears when I have a sim card inside and I guess it has to be connected to a network.

Thanks Colonel. What a strange operating system. Reminds me of those Chinese forums. I like Windows Mobile much better.
I finally managed to get internet and MMS working using AT&T EDGE network. But since there are no native apps for the MTK/Nucleus OS and the only apps that do work (sometimes) are Java based. I have decide to call it quits with this phone.
This phone is all hype and little substance. Just because it has a capacitive touch doesn't make it better. Honestly after using the capacitive touch for a while, I prefer the old resistive touch much better. The use of a stylus allows for more accurate touch experience. I'm going to give this phone to my brother for a birthday present.

Let him worry about it ;)

I also like some of my other phones much better, like my T5355 or Blackgrape phone, there are simply WAY more things you can do with them :)

One of the phone's that I had considered buying before my purchase of Pinphone, was the Blackstorm or Blackgrape. How did the Blackgrape work for you. Good phone? Guess the reason I didn't buy either was the screen size. I wanted 3.5 screen. Need the bigger screen since the older I get the harder it is to see small fonts.

Dude, So you're Schlump. I've watch several of your videos on Youtube. Cool to finally meet you. You do good videos. Has FCT honored their end of the bargain on your videos? I was thinking of making one, to get in on the deal.
