Help - i835S Update Firmware & WIFI software

Nice to meet you & sorry for my little english (Is so better that deusch...). I need your help... I buyed a iphone 3GS clon i835s; and I don't know if these have wifi ... How can check if have wifi, because haven't aplication with the name "wifi" ?; the firmware that running is i835S_CHN_CA_V_1_1_1 ; Branch: 08B I835D; Build: SVN_2331; Serial#:123101" ... ".
Also please confirm where I could download an updated firmware, that include spanish language.

Hi

It looks like your Phone doesn't have WIFI, if you had WIFI, you SHOULD have a WIFI icon somewhere. Also, your firmware should have a "W" in it, which stands for WIFI, e.g.

I835S_FN_CA_W_V1_1_2

To be honest, I don't have the slightest clue what will happen if you flash a WIFI-firmware on your phone, of course your phone won't get WIFI just by flashing a WIFI firmware on it but MAYBE a WIFI-firmware could still work on your phone? I don't know

It MIGHT work on your phone but it may also brick your phone

I hope that it has wifi, if not I lost and I've been cheated (habitual in Argentina). I think that should be have a semiconductor or procesor regarding wifi... but I dont know the name. I investigated and this phone use MTK6238 semiconductor.
Thanks for the firmware, Include a tutorial of update ? or I should find in other section.

I am PRETTY sure your phone does NOT have wifi and I really wouldn't recommend flashing a wifi firmware on that phone, chances are the firmware won't work and your phone will be bricked

Friend, thanks for your suggest. so, I take a mistake, the processor of the phona is 6235 intead 6238. Could you give a tutorial to update the firmware ?.

BUT: First of all you need a special flash cable, do you have one?

I havent special cable, only usb cable included in the original kit ... other way have ? or only include a spanish menu ?

You USB data cable does NOT work for flashing the phone, you will need a special flash cable like this one:

Problem is, in YOUR CASE you should REALLY do a readback of your own firmware before trying to flash a different firmware on your phone, because chances are VERY HIGH that the new firmware won't work on your phone. If that's the case, you can only unbrick your phone by flashing back YOU OWN firmware on the phone. The problem with this cable is that some users here on the forum have reported that they are NOT able to get working readback of their firmwares from their phones

So, this cable will definitely work for flashing a firmware but saving your own firmware by doing a readback might not work!!
